Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is proud to announce a marvellous partnership with the Blue Light Card Foundation. The charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children across the UK. Its network of over 200 Roald Dahl Nurses provides expert care to children and families living with complex, lifelong conditions. Through this partnership, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity will offer a tailored wellbeing programme for Roald Dahl Nurses. The project aims to improve the mental health and resilience of Roald Dahl Nurses, ensuring they are better equipped to handle the emotional and psychological challenges of their roles. By providing structured training, peer support, group sessions, and wellbeing activities, the programme will offer vital support for nurses, ultimately enhancing the care provided to seriously ill children and their families.
Emma Woods-Bolger, CEO at the Blue Light Card Foundation says, “We’re honoured to support Roald Dahl Nurses through this powerful wellbeing programme. Their role is emotionally intense, demanding not only expert clinical knowledge but also deep compassion and resilience. This initiative offers vital support so they can continue providing extraordinary care to seriously ill children, while also protecting their own mental health.” Louise Griew, Chief Executive at Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, says, “We are so grateful to the Blue Light Card Foundation for their generous support. Roald Dahl Nurses work tirelessly to care for seriously ill children and young people across the UK. As part of our nurse professional development and leadership programme, we provide dedicated wellbeing support to help them manage the emotional and physical demands of their roles. By partnering with the Blue Light Card Foundation, we can continue to provide vital support for Roald Dahl Nurses, so they can continue providing their expert, exceptional care to the children and families who need them most.”
