Nurse Led Innovation

The Marvellous Nurse Inventing Room 2021

The Marvellous Nurse Inventing Room aims to provide opportunities for specialist nurses to explore novel and innovative ways of improving the healthcare outcomes and resilience of seriously ill children and young people living with complex, lifelong, underfunded conditions. This programme reflects our ambition to champion and nurture nurse-led innovation.

Who can apply?
If you are a specialist nurse, currently employed by an NHS Trust or Health Board in the UK and have an innovative idea, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for nurse-led innovative ideas that can demonstrate the potential to improve the healthcare outcomes and resilience of seriously ill children and their families living with complex, lifelong, and under-funded conditions. The Marvellous Nurse Inventing Room - 2014-2017

Thanks to the support of the Burdett Trust for Nursing, we were able to support innovative nurse-led research projects.

Our aim through the Marvellous Inventing Room Programme was to improve the quality of care for seriously ill children and young people. The programme also helped to improve skills in leadership, research and project management for children's nurses.

A summary of the external evaluation of the project can be read here.
