Company of Nurses Charitable Trust awards multi-year grant to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity

The Company of Nurses Charitable Trust has selected Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity as its first beneficiary charity in the specialist children’s nursing sector. The Charitable Trust has committed to providing the charity with an annual grant for the next three years. The funds awarded by The Company of Nurses Charitable Trust are to be used to the best advantage in the charity’s activities around professional development and wellbeing of Roald Dahl Nurses. The two organisations share a mutual ambition of nurse development, supporting, encouraging and driving education, networking and wellbeing. This like-minded synergy was an important factor in establishing this relationship and the decision to award the grant. The Worshipful Company of Nurses is the UK’s youngest Livery Company in the City of London and is entirely profession based. The organisation actively engages in benevolence, education, and fellowship for all registered nurses, past, present, and future. The Company of Nurses Charitable Trust is the charity arm of the Livery Company. Cinta Esmel, Director of Development for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity said, “We are thrilled to have been chosen as a beneficiary charity by The Company of Nurses Charitable Trust and so grateful for their generous award. It provides us with a wonderful opportunity to showcase the charity’s important work supporting our Roald Dahl Nurse network to be the best that they can be. Our dedicated charitable programme aims to equip them with resources and training to enhance their skillsets and expertise and improve patient outcomes. We foresee a long and positive relationship that will greatly benefit our marvellous nurses.”

Brenda Griffiths, Foundation Past Master of the Company and Chair of The Company of Nurses Charitable Trust, said, “We are delighted to be working with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity to support nurses working in such a challenging specialty. We are committed to developing a long-term relationship with the charity and look forward very much to seeing the impact of our grant over the next three years, helping children and their families and those looking after them. The professional development of nurses is of great importance to us and we are so pleased that our donated funds will be used to this end.”
